New Lamborghini races jet fighter
The Ghedi (Brescia) military airport in Italy was the setting for a race between an A200-A Tornado aircraft and the new jetfighter-inspired Lamborghini Reventon recently.
The fighter pilot and the Lamborghini test driver challenged each other on the 3km runway. The Reventon took the lead in the first leg of the race down the 3km runway, but the Tornado caught up in the last few meters, taking off and flying over the Reventon, overtaking at a speed of over 211mph (340 km/h).
Only 20 Reventons will be made at a price tag of 1 million euros plus taxes (AUD$1.67M) and all of these are already sold and will be delivered in 2008. The Reventon recently picked up the “World’s Most Beautiful Automobile 2007” award in the special models category of the award “L’Automobile pi Bella del Mondo” (The Word’s most Beautiful Automobile).
