Two Fiats Go Under The Hammer

The catalogue for the upcoming Shannons 2016 Melbourne Spring Classic Auction is out now and there are a couple of diminutive Fiats that have attracted our attention.

First up is Lot number 2 and lovely little Fiat 850 sedan from 1967.  The description states that the body is in generally good condition, with no visible rust and recent work has included new ball joints, rebuilt brakes and four new tyres.

The reserve is listed at $5000 to $8000 which to our mind represents a great, low cost way to enter the world of classic Italian car ownership.

Next is Lot number 9 a Fiat 500 from 1970 in white. It’s no secret that the Bambino is the sweetheart of the baby Fiats from the 50s, 60s and 70s and that they command a premium over their little contemporaries. This example is no exception, its reserve of between $14000 and $18000 is more than double that of the 850.

It does look like a lovely example though and we think the white on red colour scheme is perfecto!
