A beautiful Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 GS Zagato from 1931 has won the 2016 Mille Miglia recreation. It was one of 3 priceless Alfas that made up the top fiver finishers of the worlds most famous road race.

The winning car was driven by Andrea Vescova and Andrea Guerini and it spent four fabulous days weaving in and out of italian villages and towns en route from Brescia to Rome and back again.

This was the 34th re-enactment of Mille Miglia, designed to recreate the thrills and atmosphere of the “the most beautiful race in the world”. As well as the headline grabbing 8C winner the other Alfas in that finished in the top five were the third placed 1933 Alfa Romeo 6C 1500 Gran Sport and another 6C 1750 Gran Sport Zagato, this one from 1930 and belonging to the Alfa Romeo Museum in Arese, came fifth.

As you would imagine there were lots of Italian cars entered including a 1939 Lancia Ardea and two Fiat spiders, a 1934 508 Balilla Coppa d’Oro and a 1955 1100 TV Trasformabile.
