ItalianCar at Motorfest 2014
We went along to the RACQ Motorfest at Eagle Farm in Brisbane to see what Italian car delights we could find.
A highlight was the fantastic Maserati display celebrating 100 years of the esteemed marque. On show were a collection of current models including the beautiful new Ghibli and classics including a series one Quattroporte and the original Ghibli – quite different in concept to the new model bearing the name, and a car we had previously seen at Automotion.
Also on display was WARWICK Warwick Williams’ replica 1956 250F Maserati. It looked fantastic alongside a Maserati motorcycle – ready to race.
Our absolute favourite car of the show, however, was the gorgeous Lancia Aurelia Coupe that was beautifully displayed by owner and namesake Aurelia Connolly. Ms Connolly had prepared a fascinating display that explained how the car was given to her by her parents after family friend and noted classic car restorer Wolf Grodd (Sleeping Beauties) suggested the car to match their daughter’s name.
